How Travis Olufemi Studios collects, uses, and looks after your personal information.
Who we are
Travis Olufemi Studios is a photography studio based in Edinburgh, offering portrait, wedding and event photography, and studio hire. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Travis Olufemi Studios.
For any question about this policy or about your personal data, contact us at enquiry@travisolufemistudios.co.uk or on +44 7353 475871.
What information we collect
We only collect what we need in order to photograph your session, run a booking, or answer an enquiry.
- Contact and booking details — your name, email address, phone number, the date and location of your shoot, and anything you tell us about what you would like photographed.
- Photographs — the images taken during your session, which are personal data because you are identifiable in them.
- Client gallery accounts — the email address and password you use to sign in to your private gallery, and a record of the images you select or download.
- Payment information — bookings and payments are handled by our booking form and payment providers. Card details are entered directly with those providers and are never seen or stored by us.
- Website usage — basic, aggregated statistics about how people find and move around this site.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To perform our contract with you — arranging and photographing your session, delivering your gallery, and taking payment.
- Because we have a legitimate interest — replying to enquiries, keeping our records in order, protecting our work, and improving the site.
- Because you have given consent — where we use your photographs in our portfolio or on social media, or send you marketing. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
- Because the law requires it — keeping financial records for the period required by HMRC.
Using your photographs in our portfolio
We will always ask before your photographs appear in our portfolio, on this website, or on our social media. If you would rather your images stayed private, that is completely fine and it will not affect your booking or the service you receive. If you agree now and change your mind later, tell us and we will remove them from anywhere we control, as soon as we reasonably can.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. We do share it with the service providers who help us run the studio, and only so far as they need it:
- our website host and email provider;
- our booking form and payment providers;
- the client gallery software that hosts your private gallery;
- our accountant, and HMRC, for tax records.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become bookings — up to 12 months.
- Booking and contact records — for the duration of our work together, and then as long as tax law requires.
- Client galleries — your gallery stays available for 90 days from delivery. After that it is archived rather than deleted, and can be reopened on request. Ask us if you would like your files removed entirely.
- Original image files — we keep these so we can re-supply your photographs if you lose them. Tell us at any time if you would prefer we did not.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent you have given. To exercise any of these, email enquiry@travisolufemistudios.co.uk — we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, though we would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Cookies
This site uses cookies that are necessary for it to work — for example to keep you signed in to your client gallery — and cookies that help us understand, in aggregate, how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may then not work as intended.
Keeping your information safe
The site runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection, client galleries are protected by an account or access code, and access to original files is limited to the studio. No system is perfectly secure, but we take looking after your photographs seriously.
Children
We photograph children and families often. Where the subject is under 18, we take booking instructions and any consent to publish images from a parent or guardian.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
